CITY BOWL FRESH FOOD MARKET

Don’t know what to do on a lazy Saturday morning? Contemplate no more…the Gardens fresh food market is absolutely the place to be if you want the freshest produce around and see the newest trends this vibey suburb has to offer.

After spending three weeks in France, I consider myself to be somewhat of a connoisseur when it comes to fresh food markets.  Needless to say I was rather amazed at the standard and quality this little food market has to offer.  They say dynamite comes in small packages, and compared to some of its bigger competitors, this little market is second to none.

As you enter the market, small wicker baskets are available to all customers, ready to receive all the colourful produce that might take your fancy.  This quaint little touch takes me back to the romantic atmosphere of strolling through the French markets.

An additional touch (which I think all dog lovers would appreciate) is that your dog is more than welcome to saunter amongst the stalls with you.  A colourful pink water bucket at the entrance also welcomes them with a thoughtful little thirst-quencher.

So, in conclusion, if you want good quality produce provided by friendly locals (without the terrible hassle of searching for parking for over an hour!), the Gardens food market is the place for you!

The City Bowl market trades every Saturday between 9am and 2pm. It is situated at 14 Hope Street, Gardens.  Hope to see you there!
